This performance was a part of the Neuvieme Festival International de Danse de Paris of 1971.
Piano Rolls was performed for this concert as a special event. A spotlight followed Tharp as she improvised to QRS Player Piano Roll # Q-152 "If I Could Be With You (One Hour Tonight)" by James P. Johnson. It was the first and only time that an unstructured improvisation was presented onstage.
