When Movin’ Out opened on Broadway in 2002, much of Tharp’s existing dance company was absorbed into the cast. To satisfy prior tour dates and commitments, Tharp put together a new ensemble.
Even The King, a short, stately narrative ballet, was created for this group. The choreography blends the dancers’ wide-ranging techniques into a shared vocabulary.
